Zeldin Begins Airing Television Commercials
Spots Highlight Independence, Leadership

News from Lee Zeldin for Congress
6/12/2008

MASTIC, NY -- The Republican candidate for New York's First Congressional continued his full-blown summer media blitz designed to connect with Long Islanders disenchanted with an array of disappointing issues and disillusioned with their elected leadership.

This week, GOP candidate Lee Zeldin's campaign begins airing television ads designed to set the stage for the next five months of the 2008 race.

"We're building on seven months of success connecting with our community," said Zeldin, officially tabbed two weeks ago by the party to run for the Eastern Long Island District. "These television commercials serve the dual purpose of connecting with those we haven't yet met while continuing to showcase the themes and platforms important to Long Islanders that we've addressed since we began last October."

Zeldin asserted his stance that the election season is in full swing, despite his opponent's unwillingness to debate key issues ranging from gas prices to national security.

"Whether my opponent admits it or not, this campaign has already begun," said Zeldin. "These ads only underscore our commitment to getting our message out and keeping the public informed."

Serving as complimentary advertisements to radio ads that began yesterday, the television spots introduce Zeldin as the candidate with, "The Right Stuff." The ads highlight Zeldin's independent spirit, family values, commitment to the community and background of service.
The ads begin to air on local stations this week and are available at Zeldin's campaign Web site, www.zeldin08.com

Zeldin served as an aide to State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle. The Shirley resident studied at the University at Albany, graduated from Albany Law School, and earned his commission through Army ROTC. He was a paratrooper, prosecutor and magistrate with the 82nd Airborne Division and XVIII Airborne Corps. In the summer of 2006, he was a JAG attorney deployed to Iraq. He is currently an attorney at Raiser & Kenniff on Long Island.
