Assemblyman Dean Murray (R,C-East Patchogue) was sworn in today as a member of the New York State Legislature.  Murray was joined
by friends and legislative colleagues in the Assembly Parlor of the State Capitol as he took his oath of office administered by State Court of
Appeals Associate Judge Victoria A. Graffeo.  The newly sworn-in assemblyman said he looks forward to immediately getting to work to
bring tax relief and job creation to Long Island.

“I am truly humbled today by the honor of serving the state of New York and residents of Long Island,” said Murray.  “It’s truly time to move
from the election and celebration stage into a phase of legislative action.  My first priority is to introduce a bill to repeal the job-killing MTA payroll tax.”

Murray is a small businessman, owning and operating a Long Island-based advertising agency, D & S Advertising Inc.  Murray won the special election
for the 3rd Assembly District on February 9.  Joining Murray at his swearing-in ceremony were friends Judy Pepenella, Heather Martarello, Conrad Schabauer,
Matt Sanfilippo, and Leslea Snyder.

“I look forward to working in a bipartisan manner with members of both houses to put forth an agenda that puts people back to work and reduces the crushing
tax burden here on Long Island,” said Murray, the first Tea-Party organizer to be elected to the New York State Legislature.  “As my work and the tea party
organization have demonstrated, our policies transcend party politics and are guided by pragmatic concerns for taxpayers.  Together, not only can New York
weather the storm of this economic recession, but we can lead the way out.”
