Murray says Eddington is misleading the public

09/29/2009

Medford, New York:  Suffolk County Legislative Candidate Dean Murray (R,C) (7thL.D.) says that a recent campaign mail piece put out by Jack Eddington misleads the public on his efforts regarding public safety.  The most blatant stretching of the truth involves a claim by Jack that he actually “helped” the County Executive broker a deal with the Suffolk PBA that would save taxpayers $12-million dollars.  Murray says, “I wonder if the County Executive got this mail piece and more importantly, I wonder if Mr. Levy would agree with Eddington’s claims.”  Murray says, “I think Mr. Levy would be shocked to learn how “helpful” Jack was to him, especially considering the fact that Jack has basically been acting as the police union spokesman/negotiator over the past few months.”  Murray goes on to say that, “Eddington has so coveted getting the police union endorsement, that he has forgotten who he actually represents.  Instead of working to come up with a plan that would help put more police on the streets without hitting the taxpayers in the pockets, he has been fighting to give the police union whatever they want at whatever cost.”

Murray says, “Using my business experience as a guide, I have put together a plan called the “Murray Plan for Public Safety” that would add up to 200 police officers to the force while at the same time, saving about 6-million dollars.  The plan is available on my website at www.VoteDeanMurray.com

Murray says, “I find it amazing that Eddington spends his time bashing the County Executive in the press to gain brownie points with the union and then turns around and tries to convince the  voters that he is working closely with Mr. Levy.  Is it any wonder that the public feels politicians are disingenuous and misleading?”
