SENATOR LAVALLE HOSTS GOLDEN GATHERING

Senator Kenneth P. LaValle welcomed a free blood pressure screening provided by a student of Eastern Suffolk BOCES at his 2008 Golden Gathering. Senator LaValle has sponsored this public service event for the past six years and has received an overwhelming response. This forum provides the opportunity for senior citizens to learn about programs and services that could be helpful to them in their daily lives. The Golden Gathering drew over 50 exhibitors, allowing guests to take advantage of free health screenings, manicures, giveaways, flu shots, and a wealth of information on everything from property taxes to identity theft to healthcare. Senator LaValle is already getting ready for next year’s event, which will be geared toward the entire family.
