Republican Petition Drive ’09…
…Events for the Week of June 15th

Dear Fellow BTRC Committeeperson,

Let me begin by thanking all of you who joined me and your 2009 Slate of Town Candidates on Monday, June 8th, as the Brookhaven Town Republican Committee’s Nominating Convention. Having more than 300-plus committee members and supporters in attendance gave your candidates the send off they deserve as they begin our Republican Message to the voters of our great town.

It is that time of year, again, when we are charged to circulate our Republican designating petitions. It is important we collect signatures for our County and Town-wide candidates along with our individual committee person petitions.

Collecting 20 signatures from Republicans in your respective election district is a grassroots way of spreading the Republican message of less government and less taxes to your neighbors. Many of our neighbors share our sentiment and are outraged at the President's failed stimulus package, the Governor's tax and spend plan and Senator Foley's sending our Long Island money to the City. Once again there is hope for us and all taxpayers as the Republicans have ceased the helm of the New York Senate Majority. We need to keep the momentum going at the local level!

I also want to thank the more than 40 notaries the BTRC has on the streets securing the much needed signatures we need to qualify our incumbent and candidates for the minor parties. Most, if not all, of these notaries are also committee members who will also be carrying their own Republican petitions.

Petitions are due back to Republican HQ no later than Monday, July 6th.
