Happy New Year & a Prosperous 2009 for All

January 1, 2009

I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a prosperous New Year in 2009. I also want to thank each and every one of you – our dedicated committee members, volunteers, supporters, candidates and elected officials - for the support you have given to me and the Brookhaven Town Republican Committee this past year.

A year ago, a new dawn shown bright in Brookhaven Town with a new Republican Majority seated on the Town Board. After a year of our elected Republican Majority on the Brookhaven Town Board taking the reigns of responsibility and accountability of our Town Government, our taxpayers have benefited from the proactive efforts of Council members Tim Mazzei, Kathleen Walsh, Jane Bonner and Keith Romaine to protect the hardworking taxpayers and families of Brookhaven.

Our Republican/Conservative Majority has put together an impressive Record of Accomplishments for 2008, which includes:

Freezing Town General Property Taxes next year

Cutting more than $8 million in wasteful spending

Placing a priority in IMPROVING the Quality of Life in our neighborhoods

Restoring the Voice of the People back into the corridors of Town Hall

Ending no bid political media contracts to a firm owned by a National Democratic Committee Member

Building on the success of our Town Board Majority in 2008, the Republican Party first and foremost stands as that party of advancing real solutions. We are the Party of real ideas and advocating an agenda grounded in principles of lower taxes, limited government, promoting personal responsibility and improving our quality of life.

The first steps to retaining and expanding our Republican/Conservative Majority in the New Year will come in the opening months of 2009, when we get back to work and hit the streets to elect Tim Mazzei as our new Town Supervisor.

Building on this victory, we will steam our way to Victory at the ballot box throughout 2009. We will accomplish this because we are more energized, united and committed to victory than any other Committee in the County.

Each and every one of you who worked on our campaigns in 2007 and 2008 owns a part of history; you are responsible for the resurgence of our Party. I can assure you that there are countless more victories for our Party in 2009 and well into the future as long as we remain united and energized.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you on the campaign trail as we take our Republican Message directly to Brookhaven voters and as we grow our party even more in 2009.
