Have a Safe, Healthy & Prosperous New Year in 2010

I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a prosperous New Year in 2010. I also want to personally thank each and every one of you – our dedicated committee members, volunteers, supporters, candidates and elected officials - for the support you have given to the Brookhaven Town Republican Committee and me in 2009.

This past year we faced challenges, but experienced even more triumphs as a Town Republican Committee. We successfully returned our Republican/Conservative Caucus back to the Brookhaven Town Board; defeated a sitting Democrat incumbent County Legislator; swept our judicial races; and came within a handful of votes from electing even more Republicans in what Democrats considered safe seats on the Brookhaven Town Board and County Legislature.

Our energized and united Town Republican Committee proved to be competitive in every race we waged…We kept the hedge fund-financed Democrat Machine on its heels all year and forced them to protect their incumbents like never before.

And in the end, it was your Republican candidates who out-polled Democrats at the ballot box because the voters of Brookhaven responded to our platform of lower taxes, less spending, placing a priority on the quality of life in our neighborhoods; ending no bid political media; awarded to Democrat Committee members, cronies of the Democratic Party and restoring the voice of the people and our shared Republican principles to the corridors of Town Hall.

I also want to take this moment to personally Thank the Voters of Brookhaven Town for placing their trust in our Republican elected officials. Thank You for responding to our message of putting people ahead of politics and our call to restoring conservative fiscal policies back to local government.

Brookhaven Republicans: The Party of Real Ideas & Real Solutions

We are the Party of real ideas and advocating an agenda of real solutions to make Brookhaven and the County more affordable for our hardworking families.

That is why it is becoming even more evident that 2010 is destined to be one of the most successful campaign years for our party in recent times. The nation, the state, and the people of Brookhaven have fully experienced the Tax and Spend government run by the Democrat Machine and are joining the Republican Party in our fight against the job-killing MTA Tax; restoring the STAR Rebate checks Albany Democrats took away; and the $24 million deficit the Democrat Brookhaven Town Supervisor created in his 2010 budget that will lead to higher property taxes for all Brookhaven taxpayers.

The first steps to a Republican Wave in the New Year will come in the opening months of 2010 when we get back to work and hit the streets to elect a new State Assemblyman and Town Council Member in special elections.

Unfortunately, despite all of our hard work in 2009, we lost one of our rising stars and dearest friends with the sudden passing of Councilman Keith Romaine in November. I ask each and every one of you to keep Keith and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

But, as the Town Republican Family, we will overcome this greatest of challenges and build upon our soon to be special election victories. We will ride that wave to even more victories in congressional and state races at the ballot box throughout 2010.

Each of you who worked on our campaigns in 2009 owns a part of history. You are responsible for the resurgence of our Party. And I can assure you that there are countless more victories for the Brookhaven Town Republican Party in 2010.

I look forward to working with you on the campaign trail as we take our Republican Message directly to Brookhaven voters and as we grow our party in the coming year.
